The transformation of the former Royal Adelaide Hospital site is well underway. The seven-hectare CBD site, known as Lot Fourteen, will be redeveloped into an innovation neighbourhood. Demolition of existing buildings, including the seven-storey east wing and link to the emergency department have been completed, with WGA providing detailed engineering assistance to McMahon Services. Careful methodology and staging by WGA ensured the slender link building remained safe and stable during all stages of demolition.
Working with urban architects Oxigen, WGA is also providing civil and traffic engineering advice for the master planning of the neighbourhood, which will deliver the design framework for this city-shaping project. WGA is currently undertaking the civil design for the first stage of public landscaping.
