Our WA team was recently awarded the contract to develop an integrated water management strategy for the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale. With one of the fastest growing communities in Australia, the Shire recognised the need to manage increasing pressure on the region’s water supplies and infrastructure. The Shire is one of the first districts in WA to investigate the adoption of an integrated water management strategy to support their 2050 vision. Our recommendations will inform future decisions about water infrastructure investment in the region.
The project is a finalist in the Australian Water Association's Western Australia Water Awards. The winner will be announced later this month.
WGA’s combined hydrogeological and water management expertise have also seen us undertake similar studies across Australia, including SA Water’s $155.6 million Northern Adelaide Irrigation Scheme. The reclaimed water project aims to supply 12 GL/a of treated wastewater to irrigators north of the Gawler River. The reclaimed water will be suitable for commercial food production to ensure the long-term viability of the horticulture industry in the Northern Adelaide Plains.
