It’s whale season in SA and if you’re heading out with the binoculars, make sure to take in the view from the newly completed whale watching platform at Kings Beach, near Victor Harbor.

The platform provides fantastic views out to West Island and the Southern Ocean. The platform also sits along the section of the Heysen Trail between Waitpinga and Victor Harbor.

Design of this platform was completed by our structural team for Advanced Plastic Recycling and constructed by local construction company Bailey Homes for the Rotary Club of Victor Harbor. This sustainable design has been built using wood plastic composite material, which uses recycled plastic resistant to corrosion and weathering.

This project is named "Nakurami Kondoli", an Aboriginal word for “whale lookout”, in consultation with the local Indigenous community.
