We were engaged by local NT company, Halikos Group, to provide civil and structural design services for the new Nightcliff Police Station in Darwin. The new station can accommodate up to 100 officers and provides shared community spaces.
As an Importance Level 4 Structure, the facility is required to remain operational during and after catastrophic events, such as a cyclone. Design challenges unique to Darwin’s tropical environment included ensuring the building would be resistant to potential flying debris during strong winds.
