The next project, Arnhem Highway Upgrade at Beatrice Hill, is being delivered as part of the Australian Government’s Roads of Strategic Importance initiative on the Alice Springs to Darwin Corridor.

This section of the Arnhem Highway works complement previous works to improve productivity for a number of industries, securing future economic development in the East Arnhem region. The Arnhem Highway is the key road link between Darwin, Jabiru and Kakadu National Park.
Our Darwin team is managing ground improvement solutions, embankment, pavement and drainage works to the Beatrice Hill Causeway section including a 4-span bridge. With the aim to reduce flooding acorss the entire floodplain, the bridge will allow water to flow under, minimising impact to road users.

With environmental management and cultural heritage considerations fundamental to the community, the new highway section has been designed to minimise the impact on the landscape. Once complete the upgrade will improve traffic flow and safety whilst helping to mitigate upstream flooding thanks to a more robust drainage structure.
