Australian Water Association Infrastructure Awards

Congratulations to Civil Engineer, Hayley Whitington for her work on the Whyalla Stormwater Harvesting and Reuse Strategy project, which was nominated for the Australian Water Association Infrastructure Project Innovation Award (Regional).

Hayley and the team worked with Whyalla Council to devise a strategy that would work in the interest of Whyalla, to maximise economically feasible stormwater harvesting and reuse opportunities in an arid environment. This project was a great example of how we can seek to utilise existing infrastructure to maximise supplies of fit-for-purpose water, even when conditions are not ideal.

Whilst we didn’t take out the top spot, we are incredibly proud of Hayley and her hard work. Well done to all winners, nominees and AWA for putting on a great night.
