Port Augusta Export Facility
WGA is designing a new iron ore export facility situated on the old Port Augusta Power Station site on SA’s Eyre Peninsula. The new facility will provide a cost-effective solution for regional miners to export their products utilising Capesize bulk carriers. WGA undertook high level engineering assessments and 3D spatial model layouts to assist with the successful Development Approval process, and are now carrying out preliminary engineering.
Significant retained infrastructure including the rail wagon unloading station will be supplemented with a series of new conveyors and bulk storage sheds. Front end loader reclaim and conveyor transfer to a purpose built self-loading / self-unloading barge completes the system.
