WGA assisted in the establishment of the overall plant and equipment layout and configuration of Onesteel’s Project Magnet at its South Middleback ranges mine. The hematite ore from the mine is transported by rail into a tip pocket and then transferred via a hopper and apron feeder to the 'Hematite Conveyor'. The entire development consisted of a train unloading facility incorporating the 176t capacity receiving hopper, feeding a 1200mm wide, 300tph transfer conveyor delivering ore via a ridge conveyor with tripper into a stockpile shed for export. WGA's innovative design allowed safe construction of the new tip pocket whilst maintaining full operation of the existing tip pocket.
