The Australian Army had entered into service new capability in the form of three Giraffe Agile Multi-Beam (GAMB) radar systems mounted on armoured transporters. These vehicles did not have suitable accommodation at Woodside Barracks. WGA was responsible for the design element of the Design and Construct project awarded to Sitzler, which required completion before the end of financial year without compromising Defence approval processes. We designed new shelters to accommodate the Armoured MAN SX-45 vehicles with G-AMB mounted radar systems, requiring heavy-duty concrete floor slab of suitable strength and bays flexible enough to allow vehicle maintenance in a safe manner.
