The Project

Mickleham Road has undergone an upgrade between Somerton Road and Dellamore Boulevard in Melbourne’s northern suburb of Greenvale. The aim was to reduce congestion and improve travel times for 25,000 daily motorists.

Stage 1 of the project involved the construction of extra lanes in each direction, new traffic lights at Aitken College, replacement of the roundabout at Somerton Road and Mickleham Road with a new traffic light intersection, upgrading the Hillview Road and Dellamore Boulevard intersections, and building new sections of walking and cycling paths.

Technical Solutions

WGA provided proof engineering for the structural elements of the project. This included 100-metres of retaining walls up to 1.5-metres high, couple of box culverts and three non-standard pits.

Client Outcomes

WGA’s timely delivery of the Proof Engineering deliverables meant the project could remain on schedule to begin construction.
