WGA assisted McConnell Dowell in fitting out Australia’s largest crane barge at Port Adelaide for nine 300-550t offshore lifts to demolish the Port Stanvac Jetty and dolphins.
The project involved designing and planning a 765-tonne test lift where the giant floating crane lifted another barge with additional counterweight and ballast water to make up the required load.
WGA designed rigging, sea fastenings, temporary works and lift procedures associated with these nine major lifts.
