As part of the Victorian government’s commitment to improving boating facilities throughout Victoria, the Rhyll Boating Facilities Upgrade project is seeking to provide a substantial improvement on the existing boat launching facility.
This will involve improved boat launch and retrieval, improved parking, provide two new jetties and pontoons and a facility for non-powered craft (canoes and kayaks).
Better Boating Victoria is overseeing the delivery of this and other projects on behalf of the State Government, with WGA being engaged by the Bass Coast Council to undertake the detail design.
Since being engaged WGA has undertaken a review of the concept design for usability, and incorporate resident and user feedback.
WGA is providing civil, structural, traffic and geotechnical design from our Melbourne office, and working collaboratively with our Adelaide office to undertake the maritime design.
Construction is anticipated to start on site in early July 2021, with the landside works expected to be open prior to the commencement of this year’s fishing season.
