Across the ocean we're working on an exciting project in Samoa. As part of the Parliamentary Complex Redevelopment, funded by Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, we're undertaking detailed design for a new Legislative Assembly Office Building for the Samoan Parliament.

The new 2-storey office building will be elevated 2m above existing ground levels due to flooding issues and storm surge on the low-lying peninsula on which the site sits. All buildings are being designed to withstand cyclonic wind of 79m/s.

We also developed a monolithic raft foundation to mitgate the issues associated with the high presence of coral in the ground conditions.

WGA's Melbourne office are working in conjunction with Samoan firm Origin Engineering, and Sydney-based Architects Alexander & Lloyd.
