The Thevenard Marine Offloading Facility is now in use with Flinders Ports being the first users. WGA provided project management and design services for the final design and construction of Thevenard Marine Offloading Facility.
The project included dredging of the seabed to increase depth, construction of a breakwater, wharf-side loading/ unloading area to service up to three 30m vessels at any one time and marina berths with floating pontoon access.
The upgraded facility will enable the Great Australian Bight commercial fishing industry access to Thevenard to load and unload marine products and supplies.
It is estimated that the return of the vessels from the commercial fishing industry could contribute an additional $10.9 million annually into the regional economy.
