Andrew McLeod Water & Wastewater Technical Lead
DWN

Growing up in Newcastle on the east coast of Australia, Andrew has always been around water. This affiliation has remained throughout his work as a Civil Engineer, chiefly involved in water and wastewater infrastructure.

Andrew began his career investigating dam and water catchments along Australia’s east coast, before four years of experience on diverse major projects in the UK. Returning to Australia, he was attracted to the Darwin lifestyle and the opportunity to work on vital water projects for remote communities.

The water supply upgrade on Milingimbi Island remains a milestone project for Andrew. This encompassed challenging logistics such as tides, remote location, multiple stakeholders and delicate environmental considerations. He has developed water standards and codes for Government agencies, including guidelines for indigenous communities, incorporating his first-hand knowledge.

With a passion for problem solving, Andrew’s role allows him to be working with the heads of companies one day and the next on site, thinking on his feet to manage complex stakeholder requirements.
