As a Principal structural engineer, Mario has over 22 years’ experience in design, construction and project documentation across the commercial, industrial and residential sectors. His experience extends to a further 9 years in the construction industry as a design drafter and registered building supervisor.

Fuelled by his natural curiosity, innate ability to problem solve and acquired skills in project management, Mario was drawn to return to study a degree in civil engineering. As an established engineer, Mario works proactively with clients, architects, builders and all members of the design team, to ensure the project brief and architectural vision is achieved, and project timelines are met.

With expertise in structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, multi-storey construction in structural steel, reinforced concrete and timber, as well as extensive experience in the residential construction sector, Mario has a strong understanding of practical design and constructability of alternative structural systems.

Having been the project leader on many significant projects nationally and across the state including the National Wine Centre, Mario continually strives to achieve innovative and structurally efficient design solutions. He cites his involvement with this iconic building as one of his most memorable projects as it represents an elegant, structurally sophisticated and sustainable engineering solution. The National Wine Centre has won a plethora of awards, including the best use of timber engineering and supreme timber design.

Mario is a Chartered Professional Engineer and member of Engineers Australia, Timber Engineering Society, American Institute of Steel Construction and the Footings Group of South Australia.
