‘Subs in Schools’ Sponsorship

WGA recently welcomed four students from St Peter’s Girls school to our Adelaide office, to talk about the design and construction of the ‘Athena’ model submarine they built as part of the ‘Subs in Schools Technology Challenge’. The competition is part of a Commonwealth Government program that aims to promote interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) subjects in high schools. WGA was a proud Platinum Sponsor of the St Peter’s Girls program. 

Their ‘Athena’ submarine won First Prize in both the SA state awards and National Competition. As part of the winning prize, the team visited the Johnson Space Centre in Houston, NASA’s headquarters.
