The recent announcement of the purchase of Arrium by the GFG Alliance has provided the Whyalla Steelworks, now known as Liberty OneSteel, with an exciting and bright future.
WGA first established its office in Whyalla over 25 years ago and has provided the steelworks, mine operations and major service providers with dedicated engineering and project management support. Earlier this year we assisted the new buyer with strategic advice using our detailed knowledge of the plant. We have recently strengthened our Whyalla team with additional project management and electrical control capability. Julian Kovacic has joined as Senior Controls Engineer and brings extensive experience with SCADA and Automation design in heavy industrial environments. We can now manage projects from a complete mechanical / structural and electrical & controls perspective. We look forward to providing solutions for the next 25 years to the GFG Alliance.
