WGA Structural Engineer Jessica Nicholson recently spoke at Whyalla’s Inspirational Talks by Australian Women Engineers event hosted by Liberty Primary Steel, to promote STEM careers for women in Whyalla. Female students from Whyalla High School, Edward John Eyre High School and Samaritan College attended the full day event. They were taken on a tour of the steelworks, attended presentations by five female engineers including Jessica and participated in STEM activities. The event is part of a series that is currently underway to provide students with an insight into careers in engineering and steelmaking.

Established in 1995, our Whyalla office has a long history at the steelworks, and is involved in the recently-announced transformation plan which will expand the existing operations.
