Loreto College Girls in STEM

WGA Structural Engineer Jessica McGovern recently took a group of Loreto College students through a site visit of the new Loreto College Old Scholars’ Science Centre currently under construction. Jessica provided an insight into how structural engineers work and the processes involved in design, to inspire them to consider a career in the industry.

The Old Scholars’ Science Centre redevelopment will feature five new science laboratories and breakout areas for the students. The space has been designed with exposed services on the ceiling and a glass façade to the exterior learning space to increase student engagement and understanding. WGA is providing civil and structural engineering for the project with stage one due to be completed in time for the start of the 2019 school year.
