We are breezing along to design the next wind farm on our list!

WGA is excited to announce that we are working with Fulton Hogan to provide engineering design services for the new Wambo Stage 1 wind farm in Jandowae, Queensland.

The wind farm is to be developed in two stages and will become the latest addition to Queensland’s clean energy hotspot, the Southern Renewable Energy Zone (REZ).

Stage One of the project features 42 turbines and plans to contribute 250 MW of electricity to the national grid which will be enough to power over 170,000 houses annually. By utilising a renewable energy source, the project will help to prevent the emission of more than 1.1 million tonnes of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere each year.

Did you know Australia is home to 94 fully operational windfarms? Wind energy generates around 10% of the total electricity supply for the country.

At WGA, we take pride in contributing to the development of sustainable energy solutions in building a better future for our community. We have had the pleasure of designing over 30 wind farms and close to 1500 turbines throughout Australia to help achieve this goal. Our expertise extends to all aspects of the windfarm lifecycle, including planning and feasibility, design, construction, commissioning, operations and maintenance, and extension of lifecycle.

The Wambo wind farm project will see WGA complete the foundation designs and provide road and hardstand pavement design, stormwater design advice, and earthworks inputs.
