NAIDOC Week and Beyond

While NAIDOC Week brings us together in July, our commitment to exploring First Nations culture extends far beyond a single month. In celebration of NAIDOC Week, our WA team embarked on a transformative journey guided by Djurandi Dreaming’s Justin.

In a vibrant yarning and painting session, Justin led us through the creation of a unique, collaborative artwork. The canvas – a colourful tapestry of Whadjuk seasons – centred around a yarning circle, a symbol of the gathering and collaboration that defines our WA team.

As we painted, Justin’s traditional stories filled the air, adding depth and meaning to our shared experience. A delicious morning tea from All Good Grub Bushtukka featuring native ingredients fuelled our creativity and connected us to the land.

This was more than just an event; it was a chance to deepen our understanding and appreciation of First Nations culture, fostering a spirit of unity and respect that will continue to guide our work throughout the year.
And the added bonus…. we get to look at our meaningful creation every day!
