International Women's Day - turning promises into progress

#IWD2025#MarchForward
WGA AU | Wallbridge Gilbert Aztec - International Women's Day

2025 will mark 30 years since the United Nations set a bold vision with The Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action – a trailblazing blueprint to achieve equal rights for ALL women and girls.

But long before – and ever since, women have been breaking barriers, reshaping policies, and driving global change.

So what are we doing? Well, we go beyond cupcakes and one day wonders – instead, we focus on the long term, and how we can make a real difference with cultural change and forward-looking strategies that can turn promises into progress.

Here’s a glimpse of our progress to date:

  • Women now make up 30% of our workforce, exceeding the industry average of 26%.
  • Our gender pay gap has reduced by 2.3% (average total remuneration) and 2.2% (average base salary)
  • Women’s representation on the WGA Board has grown to 25%.
  • 67% of our people in the Board Succession Program are women.
  • 30% of our graduates and 64% of people participating in our Emerging Leaders program are women.
  • 23% of our managers are women – representing a 13% increase over the past two years.
  • Go with the flow initiative provides women free access to emergency sanitary items in all our offices.
  • Leave access for fertility, menopause, menstruation, pregnancy, miscarriage.
  • Partnerships with gender equity partners like Work180 that support more women to make informed career choices.
  • Women-led collaborations with schools and universities in Australia and New Zealand are promoting STEM careers for girls.
  • Industry leading nationwide employee network, Women of WGA, empowers women through mentorship, training, community engagement, and allyship in a safe and supportive space.

We are proud of our progress, but continue to March Forward, recognising there’s more to do in creating an equitable future.
