MEL
Carlene Frank is a Principal Project Manager at WGA with 20 years of experience in the engineering industry. Throughout her career she has led the planning, evaluation, and delivery of complex, high-value projects across both industrial and non-profit sectors.
A natural problem-solver from a young age, Carlene’s curiosity about how things work led her to pursue a career in engineering. After spending a decade as an electrical engineer, she transitioned into project management, where she now blends her technical experience with strategic leadership to deliver large-scale projects.
One of the defining moments of her career was an 18-month volunteer project management assignment in South Africa, supporting a non-profit with initiatives ranging from environmental awareness to school facility upgrades and staff training. This experience strengthened her belief in the power of projects to create lasting, positive change for communities.
Carlene has delivered a multitude of projects across Australia, building strong stakeholder relationships and earning industry recognition, including being named National AIPM Project Professional of the Year in 2022.
Based in WGA’s Melbourne office, she leads initiatives to standardise project management practices across the group, driving efficiency and fostering a culture of continuous learning. Carlene is a Certified Practising Project Director (CPPD) through AIPM and a Chartered Professional Engineer (MIEAust CPEng NER).
