Steve Pennisi is WGA’s Regional Manager for Queensland, bringing nearly three decades of experience across engineering and project management.
A proud Queenslander, Steve is a mechanical engineer with an impressive career leading major infrastructure, water, energy, and resources projects across Australia and beyond.
Based in Brisbane, Steve has held senior leadership roles, where he led critical water treatment, flood mitigation, and capital delivery programs that support communities across Southeast Queensland. More recently, he has delivered major energy transition, decarbonisation, and industrial projects, as well as large-scale capital programs for major resource operations.
Steve’s unique strength lies in his people-first leadership style. Throughout his career, he’s built high-performing teams, mentored emerging leaders, and steered organisations through periods of success and transformation.
Steve’s leadership has been shaped by experiences in both industry and public service. As a Major in the Australian Army and later as a senior Water sector leader. He believes in the importance of bringing people together, staying calm under pressure and keeping teams focused on what matters most.
Steve is passionate about supporting the continued growth of WGA across the state, helping clients deliver critical infrastructure and creating opportunities for communities to thrive.
