The Project
The Lake Karrinyup Country Club is a private golf club located in Karrinyup, north of the Perth CBD. It is a renowned golf venue, best-known for its championship course and for hosting international tournaments.
WGA was engaged to deliver the redevelopment of the venue’s clubhouse. Our scope covered civil and structural engineering services across all components of the redevelopment, from the clubhouse extension through to the site infrastructure works.
Technical Solutions
The redevelopment included:
- An extended Member’s Bar and Lounge and Pro-Shop
- New Bar and Grill
- Re-grading the putting green
- New fire-water pump and tank compound
A key feature was the structural design of a 4.2-metre-wide cantilevered verandah to the Member’s Bar, engineered to deliver unobstructed views across the course.
We designed the new addition using steel portal frames to support prefabricated timber trusses, clad with clay tiles to match the existing building. The approach allowed us to achieve the architectural intent of a seamless extension while meeting the structural demands of the cantilever span.
Client Focus
The redevelopment gave Lake Karrinyup Country Club a significantly enhanced member and visitor experience. WGA’s integrated civil and structural approach ensured the new works read as a natural part of the existing clubhouse, protecting the club’s character as a landmark Perth venue.
