Double wins for WGA at NAWIC Excellence Awards

Carmen, WGA’s youngest and first female Regional Manager in Australia, took home the Business Professional Award at the NAWIC SA state awards, while Senior Structural Engineer Tica Can Ge won the Young Achiever Award at the NAWIC Victoria state awards.

As WGA’s youngest and first female Regional Manager in Australia, Carmen has been a driving force for cultural change, gender equity, and inclusion across the business. She founded and led the Project Management team in Victoria, expanding capabilities across two states. Her mentorship continues to inspire growth and leadership, not only within WGA but also across the wider industry.

With expertise in inspections, assessments, rehabilitation, and infrastructure for road and rail, Tica’s engineering work helps ensure that vital infrastructure remains safe, reliable, and durable. Beyond her technical skills, Tica is a dedicated advocate for diversity in STEM and inspires the next generation of engineers.

Hosted by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), these awards celebrate the incredible women in our industry whose outstanding achievements shine through their dedication, innovation, leadership, and positive community impact.
