WGA was engaged to provide engineering services to enable the decommissioning of significant, redundant assets within the Nelson Point iron ore production facility.
The project scope included multiple assets within existing operating plant. Due to the accessibility, age, condition of the equipment and limited equipment identification numbering, emphasis on safe work methods and procedures was required particularly for redundant cable removal.
The role also required detailed site investigation and design to ensure any existing operational electrical, control, instrumentation and communication services within the demolition boundaries were identified to ensure all services were relocated prior to demolition work commencing.
