Nelson Point Stage 3 Demolition project in Port Hedland includes the demolition and rehabilitation of a number of end-of-life facilities to reduce risks associated with retaining and maintaining deteriorating assets.
Technical Solutions
BHP engaged WGA to act as client-side engineers for the project. We have been involved since the Identification Phase Study in early 2018 and are pleased to see some significant milestones achieved.
WGA has provided electrical, instrumentation and controls design services for the zero energy and relocation work, as well as heavy lifting, demolition and structural engineering design.
Client Focus
Having been involved in several earlier projects at Nelson Point, WGA is acutely aware of the challenges in executing demolition work at the operational site.
WGA provided advice to BHP throughout the execution phase. Contractor Monadelphous have removed both high level control towers prior to cyclone season.
