South Australia’s visionary New Women’s and Children’s Hospital is taking shape at the Port Road site, within the heart of Adelaide’s BioMed City precinct. Set for completion in 2031, this world-class facility will deliver modern, integrated healthcare for women, babies, children, and families.

In June 2025, the State Government announced that WGA, in partnership with KBR and with the support of ARUP, would lead the structural and civil engineering design for the main clinical building in Stage 2. Other key contributors include the architectural consortium of Billard Leece Partnership, Bates Smart, Grieve Gillett Architects, and Taylor Cullity Lethlean, alongside Aurecon, Lucid Consulting Engineers, and BR+A Consulting Engineers delivering building services.

Client Focus

The hospital is designed with a focus on practicality and long-term service, ensuring it will meet the healthcare needs of South Australian families for generations. Featuring seamless layouts, clear navigation, and distinctive architectural elements, the facility aims to set a new benchmark for healthcare infrastructure in Australia. Through collaboration with SA Health and various stakeholders, this project strives to deliver a community-focused achievement that South Australians can be proud of.

The new Women’s and Children’s Hospital Project is in construction and is due for completion in 2031.
