The Project
WGA conducted a pre-feasibility study to integrate a proposed new vertical Lime Kiln into the Whyalla steelworks, supplementing existing capacity.
Technical Solutions
The project contained a complex array of materials handling equipment including storage bins, conveyors, feeders, elevators, weighbridges, HV and LV power supply, services supply, drainage and roadworks as well as demolition of part of the existing plant.
Client Focus
Integration of new equipment into an existing plant requires significant collaboration with the plant owners and operators to minimise downtime. WGA drew on our extensive experience with steelmaking operations to design a plant which minimised disruptions to critical ongoing operations.
