WGA undertook the installation of several large surface-mounted ventilation fans at a major underground mining operation at Olympic Dam in the Upper Spencer Gulf region of South Australia. As well as providing project and construction management services, our engineering innovations delivered greater fan efficiency, quality and cost savings. We were able to reduce the overall construction schedule through the identification of other simultaneous works, and efficient construction methodologies.
HV AND LV POWER RETICULATION AND SUBSTATION DESIGN
WGA undertook detailed design of multiple HV and LV Substations and associated power reticulation, including 4 High Voltage 11kV RMU Substations and 5 Low Voltage 690VAC/400VAC 3MVA, Substations. Design included HV and LV protection studies and calculations, earthing design calculations and modelling and input into the BHP site Load flow model.
