WGA provided structural, civil, traffic and geotechnical design for the new Salisbury Community Hub. The four-storey hub in Adelaide's north will connect the community, engage local businesses and encourage a sense of belonging. It features functional and flexible spaces for Council administration staff, Council chambers, civic spaces, a library and meeting areas.
The project was awarded SA's highest architectural award; the Jack McConnell Award for Public Architecture. This marked the second consecutive year one of our projects has received this award with UniSA's Cancer Research Institute taking out the same category in the previous year.
Our design team found it a pleasure to work alongside Hassell, an architectural team who explored ppportunities to balance structural efficiency with aesthetics and functionality right from the start of the project. The result is a beautiful yet economic facility that the City of Salisbury can be proud of.
