Adam James Buildings Lead - NT
DWN

Adam James is a Senior Principal Structural Engineer with a primary background in building structures.

His career started as an undergraduate engineer on a 6-month placement in the UK, a stint that helped him decide to make a permanent move to the warmer climates of Darwin.

Since then, Adam’s expertise has extended to various sectors over twenty-plus years, from small-scale projects to those exceeding half a billion dollars, showcasing his adaptability and skills across the board.

Helping builders and contractors develop solutions tailored to the available materials, resources, and site constraints brings out Adam’s dare-to-be-different spirit. For this reason, he particularly enjoys Design-and Construct projects, where he can add value to the project and the community by minimising the overuse of materials.

Adam doesn’t just stop at projects; he’s passionate about the growth of the industry and nurturing the future engineering minds. In addition to mentoring within the office, he has worked as a casual lecturer at Charles Darwin University and held various volunteer roles with Engineers Australia and other professional boards and committees.
